Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix shows the NFL world he’s ready for 2026 training camp in new offseason workout video

Broncos QB Bo Nix looks healthy and ready to participate in Denver’s 2026 training camp after a fresh offseason workout video showed him going through drills without limitations. Will he be 100% and able to participate fully this summer?

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is sending a clear message to the rest of the NFL: he’s healthy and ready for the 2026 season. Nix, who suffered a fractured right ankle during the AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in January, appeared in a new offseason workout video this week. The video shows him moving through drills without any visible limitations. The 26-year-old quarterback underwent an initial surgery followed by a second cleanup procedure to remove bone spurs from the injured ankle this spring. Based on the footage, the ankle looks fully recovered heading into Denver’s training camp.

The workout video was posted to the Instagram page of QB Country, a training and development team with locations in Georgia, Alabama, and Colorado. In the footage, Nix displays crisp footwork and solid timing on routes with receivers. For a quarterback coming off multiple surgeries and limited spring participation, the movement looks encouraging

Bo Nix Quick Facts & Stats

The No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Nix started all 17 regular-season games for the Broncos in 2025

    • 3,931 passing yards
    • 25 passing touchdowns
    • 11 interceptions
    • 356 rushing yards
    • 5 rushing touchdowns

Nix’s recovery timeline and what it means for training camp

The typical recovery timeline for this type of ankle injury sits around 12 weeks. The cleanup procedure in April limited Nix during OTAs, but that setback proved minor. He has since rehabilitated the ankle and appears comfortable moving through football-specific drills

It is certainly possible that Nix could face some limitations during training camp once the pads come on. They’ll need to be cautious throughout camp to protect the surgically repaired ankle from further setbacks. That approach would make sense for a franchise quarterback coming off two procedures in a span of months

Key dates for the Broncos’ 2026 training camp

Denver’s rookies are set to report for training camp on July 22, with veterans following on July 28. Nix could potentially report with the rookies, as teams often bring quarterbacks and injured players in alongside the early group. The Broncos will hold their first open training camp practice of the summer on July 31

A massive 2026 season looms for Nix and the Broncos

The stakes could not be higher for Nix and Denver heading into this fall. The Broncos were one game away from a Super Bowl berth last season, falling in the AFC Championship Game after Nix suffered an ankle fracture against the Bills. Jarrett Stidham stepped in but couldn’t finish the job against the New England Patriots

Denver will look to carry the momentum from its 2025 postseason run into 2026, but the path through the AFC West won’t be easy. The Kansas City Chiefs still have Patrick Mahomes, who is recovering from his own injury. The Los Angeles Chargers remain competitive with Justin Herbert. And the Las Vegas Raiders added a new dimension with No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza. The division figures to be one of the most competitive in football. For the Broncos, it all starts with Nix’s health. If the workout video is any indication, Denver’s quarterback will be under center when it matters most.
