Ohio (WOIO) – The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency issued a statewide air quality alert Wednesday for Thursday for smoke from the Ontario wildfires moving into Ohio

The agency placed an advisory lasting from 7 a.m. Thursday as the smoke from the Ontario wildfires moved south starting Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland

The EPA said, “The smoke will enter northern Ohio in the early morning hours and could extend into the entire state by the end of the day.”

The weather service said the smoke will create hazy conditions and <a href="https://healthylife7.com/how-1-avocado-a-day-may-help-reduce-heart-disease-risk/” title=”How 1 avocado a day may help reduce heart disease risk”>reduce air quality

The EPA advised that air quality will reach an “unhealthy” level. At these levels, people may experience health effects

The EPA warned that people in sensitive groups because of medical conditions, exposure or innate susceptibility may experience more serious health effects

The agency advised children, older adults and people with certain medical conditions to avoid outdoor activities and limit extended time outdoors

The agency advised that anyone who experiences symptoms such as coughing or shortness of breath should go inside and, if symptoms continue, contact a doctor

The agency said it will end the advisory when air quality improves and smoke has left the region

The weather service said it expects the smoke to persist into Friday
