Fairfax County, VA – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have arrested a man following a months-long investigation into a series of larcenies from vehicles parked at fitness centers across Fairfax County and neighboring jurisdictions

With assistance from the Alexandria Police Department and Falls Church Police Department, Ayalsew was located and arrested on June 26th in the City of Alexandria

Protect Yourself and Your BelongingsDetectives remind residents to take simple precautions to reduce the risk of theft from vehicles:

    • Take your valuables with you: Avoid leaving wallets, purses, credit cards, cash, electronics, or other valuables inside your vehicle.
    • Lock your vehicle every time: Even during quick stops, lock all doors and fully close all windows.
    • Plan ahead: If you must leave an item in your vehicle, secure it in the trunk before arriving at your destination so it is never visible.
