At 6:30 a.m. at TFIT Studio, a group in workout gear all hold planks on a pink mat, while workout machines in front of a pink wall are filled with members of all ages. There is an energy to the room. Conversation fills the space.
Owner and trainer Tori Hvizda guides her trainees — all women — through personalized fitness plans.
Rocky River’s TFIT Studio is part of a growing number of gyms across the country to cater entirely to women. Started in December 2024 by Hvizda, the gym welcomes women of all ages and holds a variety of workshops and classes for its members. It was voted Cleveland Magazine’s Best Independent Gym on the West Side in 2025
Hvizda has been part of gym culture since she was young, having regularly participated in sports and accompanied her mom who weightlifted to the gym. Over the years, Hvizda noticed a concerning trend
“I’ve always seen how uncomfortable it was to work out with men around, and how stressful,” Hvizda says. ”I always knew that I wanted to create a safe, comfortable space for a woman to work out in, a judgment-free zone.”

TFIT currently hosts small group training classes, one-on-one classes, pilates, and a full body strength class. The cost of a single training session ranges from $25 to $70 while larger packages that offer multiple classes range from $250 to $400. Hvizda stresses that anyone of any age or fitness level is welcome
Over the past two years, Hvizda has catered her space to women by giving the gym a feminine feel with pink workout mats, walls, mirrors, LED lights and workout equipment.
Prior to opening TFIT Studio, Hvizda worked as a trainer at other gyms, and says she saw how sessions with other trainers lacked connection. With TFIT Studio, Hvizda aims to build a personal connection with each of her clients and also form a community around working out. TFIT Studio now has over 50 members
“Everyone‘s friends with each other here. Everyone lifts each other up and that support helps people reach their goals,” she says. “I’ve never seen more comfort before, in a gym. They just want to be themselves. No one wears makeup, no one goes all out. We’re just regular people trying to work out, and get stronger every day.”

There has been a steady rise in women only gyms in the last decade with several popping up in the Cleveland area. A Run Repeat survey from 2023 claims that 56% of female gym members have reported being harassed while working out. Women-only gyms can give women a tailored space that can help them meet their fitness needs.
“Everyone has their own strength. There could be a girl lifting 50 pounds and someone else pressing 10 pounds, and that’s totally fine. We cheer each other on, no matter what,” says Hvizda. ”At the end of the day my goal has always been to create more than a gym; I wanted to build a place where women feel supported and encouraged, and we have that here.”
