Ohio – Through the rest of 2026, Medina has a multitude of America 250 events planned and one initiative that runs through Aug. 15 is geared toward the community’s youngest citizens

The America 250 Medina Kids Fitness Challenge gives children 10 and younger an opportunity to win a prize for being active

Kids can pick up a physical challenge card at Medina City Hall or the Medina Rec Center. When all the challenges listed on the card are completed, parents can sign and date the bottom of the card, then submit the completed card to either City Hall or the rec center by Aug. 14. They can also bring their card to the gazebo in the square Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon when the drawing for the grand prize takes place – a $500 gift card toward a new bike from Spin. There will be two winners and kids can enter up to three challenge cards each.

“Kids don’t have to be a Medina resident to participate in this challenge,” said Barbara Dzur, economic development and marketing manager for the City of Medina. “They could be here visiting from California and still participate.”

Dzur said the city has strived to find America 250 activities for all ages and said Medina will soon roll out details for an America 250 senior fitness challenge

“We will have this challenge in September and October when the weather is cooler,” she said. “Seniors die from falls more than any other reason so this challenge will include a list of fall prevention <a href="https://healthylife7.com/starting-the-exercise/” title=”Starting the exercise”>exercises seniors can do to build strength in their legs and feet.”
