University of IllinoisExtension is launching a new health and community wellness team to expand <a href="https://healthylife7.com/ingredion-better-for-you-foods-hinge-on-texture-as-much-as-nutrition/” title=”Ingredion: Better-for-you foods hinge on texture as much as nutrition”>nutrition education and wellness re
The team includes Morgan Roberts, the food and health systems educator, and Isabel Dyche, community outreach advisor. Both previously worked in the SNAP-Ed program and are based in the Joliet office
Roberts will help partner organizations and communities create policies and systems that improve food access. Dyche will provide direct education to residents across the three-county region
The new team will focus on nutrition, food safety, social and emotional wellness, food and community health systems, and financial education
“This new team builds on our strengths and will allow us to focus on promoting overall health and well-being,” Illinois Extension County Director for the three-county unit Marilu Andon said in a news release
The program builds on more than 100 years of Extension work in local communities. Matthew Vann, director of Illinois Extension, called it “a great opportunity for impactful programming through deeper partnerships across Extension and the state.”
