Choroids Limited is a startup duly incorporated under the laws of Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is the developer of eSelfcare Mobile, the app for self-care with plants. eSelfcare Mobile is an app which provides users scientifically valid information on how to safely care for themselves, families, or friends using plants. It is an app for de-risked plant-based wellness and self-care information. eSelfcare’s service is provided for healthcare informational and educational purposes. The app is not a substitute for professional healthcare services. eSelfcare has been released on both Google Play Store for Android device users and Apple App Store for iOS device users.

When logged in eSelfcare Mobile, users simply type their selfcare need such as ulcers, fibroids, high blood pressure, cancer, etc. The app returns selfcare options and the user selects an option and proceeds with payment. Upon payment, the user is presented with the name of a scientifically validated plant to successfully and safely care for the selfcare need. Other information includes the possible side effects and risks of using the plant, and the plant’s interaction with synthetic medicines.

Why You Should Use eSelfcare Mobile

Last month, The Guardian Features and print version brought to its readers Part 1 of “How Choroids Limited is Changing Plant-Based Self-care in Nigeria with eSelfcare Mobile”. The Part 1 of this series can be found at: https://guardian.ng/features/health/how-choroids-limited-is-changing-plant-based-selfcare-in-nigeria-with-eselfcare-mobile/

While there are at least 10 reasons why you should use eSelfcare Mobile, as summarised in Table 1, this month’s article focuses on only one reason, to minimise reading time and space. This month’s article is the second of this three-part series and it focuses on the one reason which sets eSelfcare Mobile ahead of alternatives – User support services

    Interactive User Support Services

If you have 20 years of car driving experience, that’s definitely a skill with value. If you have been driving within your country in the last 20 years and you now seek to drive from your country to another country within your continent, you have multiple options. One option is to drive to the destination country without seeking any form of help – this option guarantees your inability to reach the destination. A second option is to use a non-interactive tool – this option might help you but there’s no guarantee that you will reach your destination timely, in one piece, and with least cost, because you will not receive help on real-time events. A third option is to use an interactive tool with real-time human support – this option provides the highest prospect of your reaching the destination.

eSelfcare Mobile pioneers the third option because it provides users email, offline chat, and online chat support for managing user progress, allergies and side effects

To be frank, a human is not likely to achieve the desired results of sustainable wellness using non-interactive tools without real-time human support from a trained and experienced person (one of the reasons for failures of plant-based therapy). This is because wellness or healing is a journey and requires calibrated patience, knowledge of the route, and experience to understand the necessity to re-route when imminent. If you try to care for yourself, family, or friends with plants alone or with non-interactive tools, you risk failing in achieving the desired goal of healing. The failure comes because you may use the right plant wrongly or you may use the wrong plant rightly. Without interactive real-time support, the user may abandon the therapy when he or she has achieved 90% wellness. A user may continue using a therapy which works theoretically but doesn’t deliver a healing capability at a rate which surpasses cellular degeneration, resulting in failure. In addition, the knowledge shared through static, non-interactive tools without real-time support is as accurate as the time of the development of the tool. Knowledge about medicinal plants is dynamic, thanks to research activities which open new knowledge frontier. Actually, individuals who opt for medicinal plants need interactive real-time help which optimises therapeutic support – that’s why eSelfcare Mobile covers its users.

Does Nigeria, Africa, or the World require eSelfcare Mobile?

In order to answer this question, let’s take a quick look at the recent release by the World Health Organisation (WHO). According to the WHO, “Millions of people are facing the physical, emotional and financial toll of cancer, a disease that claims more than 26 000 lives every day”. “With an estimated 20.6 million new cases and close to 10 million deaths annually, cancer remains the second leading cause of death globally, after cardiovascular disease. Reversing this trend will require a fundamental shift towards a people-centred approach that responds to the health needs and lived experiences of affected people and communities. Without urgent action, annual cancer cases are projected to rise to nearly 35 million by 2050. This news is available at: https://www.who.int/news/item/08-07-2026-who-calls-for-urgent-action-as-new-cancer-cases-are-projected-to-nearly-double-by-2050

The report highlights a few issues:

    • High cancer death rate.
    • Low access to cancer care centres, especially in sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Low survival and longevity, even for sufferers from high-income countries.
    • The risk of the death rate doubling by 2050.

From the WHO’s report, it can be accurate to say Nigeria, Africa, and the world need to take urgent actions to slow the rate and possibly reverse the trend. Such actions definitely will require using multiple strategies for disease prevention, detection, and care. Such strategies will include use of scalable and accessible technologies, such as eSelfcare Mobile

    Download Information

eSelfcare Mobile can be downloaded from multiple

Finally, eSelfcare Mobile provides users with validated information on how to safely do self-care with plants. Such self-care needs include cancer and other health conditions, and the long-term goal of Choroids Limited’s founder is to contribute to efforts aimed at deepening use of plant-based medicines for therapy in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, through the development of eSelfcare
