A law student’s sudden death, while studying abroad, has been linked to a popular <a href="https://healthylife7.com/new-once-daily-weight-loss-pill-approved-by-the-uk-medicines-regulator/" title="New once-daily weight loss pill approved by the UK medicines regulator”>weight loss drug
California native Josephine Nasr, 19, died of a cardiac arrhythmia, per the Daily Mail,in her room at the University of East London in September 2025
According to the report, Nasr, a second-year law student, had been prescribed Tirzepatide by her doctor in California, and an empty
Nasr, per the report, told her family that she was nauseous and had been vomiting. Her sister called a private healthcare provider for IV fluids
However, Josephine Nasr stopped answering the phone. The university did a welfare check and the 19-year-old’s body was discovered on the bathroom floor

The medication, a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, is known under the brand names Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes treatment and Zepbound for weight management and obstructive sleep apnea
Coroner Graeme Irvine concluded, per the report, that Nasr’s cause of death was a cardiac arrhythmia, caused by myocardial bridging and an electrolyte imbalance caused by hypoglycemia, which resulted from the prescribed Tirzepatide
Her father, George Nasr, described his daughter as “full of joy” and said she “always helped others before herself,” according to the Mail
“She loved traveling and the ocean,” he said
“We are part of the Coptic Church, and the way Josephine was willing to help people showed that she lived her faith,” her mother added
