While the excitement for NFL training camps is in full force following the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game, there’s another storyline swirling around the Los Angeles Rams, and it’s not cooling off. The potential return of retired three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald has remained a possibility, fueling understandable excitement from not only Rams fans but general NFL fans as a whole
Amid the speculation of Donald’s possible return to a defense that now boasts Myles Garrett thanks to a trade with the Cleveland Browns, the latest video of the 35-year-old going through a workout sent social media into a spiral. There were two clips highlighting just how much of a freakish athlete Donald is, especially considering he hasn’t played since 2023
Aaron Donald shows off unreal physique and speed amid Rams return speculation
In the first clip, Donald was seen doing drills and obviously not lacking any of the speed or footwork fans saw throughout his NFL career. It was first posted by 2Tenths Speed & Agility, and Donald was reportedly working out at the Rams’ facility
If that wasn’t impressive enough, the clip of Donald speaking with the media is even more proof that even several years in retirement haven’t been enough to keep one of the NFL’s best defensive tackles from remaining in peak shape
Although Donald’s return is still up in the air, it’s fair to assume that if the eight-time First-Team All-Pro does decide to put the pads back on, he’d have little issue making an impact for the Rams, who are among the top favorites to contend for the Super Bowl this year
