Secretary of State Marco Rubio spilled on Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “crazy” eating habits Tuesday, revealing the lengths the health secretary goes to maintain his diet, including traveling with coolers packed with fermented cabbage
Rubio and his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio, were appearing on Katie Miller’s podcast when, near the end, Kennedy’s diet came up in a quickfire question round, as did the broader “Make America Healthy Again” movement
“This is a crazy diet. This is a diet that consists of eating sauerkraut and meat,” Rubio said. “Nah, you understand, like, this is not a sustainable thing. Like you can’t just walk into it, you know –”

“Well, he sustains it,” his wife interjected
“Can you imagine? He has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut,” Rubio continued. “I’m not gonna travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It’s ridiculous! I can’t do it. It’s not sustainable for me.”
After the outburst, Miller pressed Rubio on whether he was “MAHA.”
“I’m in favor of MAHA. Like I think people should be healthy,” he said
His wife, however, immediately disagreed: “No, he is not. He is completely not.”
Asked what her husband eats instead, she answered: “Pop-Tarts.”
Rubio protested that he does not eat them every day before mounting a spirited defense of the toaster pastry: “The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world. If you think about it, it comes in this beautiful foil pack.”

“You eat all the things you should not be eating. Every single thing,” his wife shot back, later adding: “He loves fast food. He loves it all.”
Kennedy’s devotion to fermented vegetables has previously been documented by his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, who revealed that he has asked her to carry his sauerkraut in designer handbags and brings it with him to restaurants
Meanwhile, Kennedy’s diet has reportedly gained adherents elsewhere in the Trump administration. The Wall Street Journal reported in June that Vice President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy were following versions of the diet
