Calif. (August 17, 2026) —Blue Shield of California has again achieved National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to providing access to quality healthcare at an affordable price.
NCQA renewed its accreditation for a broad range of Blue Shield products, highlighting ongoing improvements and innovations that have made care better, more affordable, and easier to access for the plan’s nearly 6 million members across California.
“NCQA accreditation is a widely recognized benchmark of healthcare quality,” said Deneen Vojta, executive vice president of Healthcare Quality and Affordability at Blue Shield of California. “It reflects Blue Shield’s unwavering commitment to helping members live healthier lives, making healthcare easier to navigate, and ensuring members receive the quality care they deserve.”
Every three years, Blue Shield undergoes NCQA’s rigorous accreditation review process, one of the healthcare industry’s most respected evaluations of health plan performance. The accreditation survey assesses clinical quality, member experience, quality improvement programs, and operational effectiveness.
This year’s accreditation results include a broad range of Blue Shield products, including Commercial Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)/Point of Service (POS), Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO), and Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans; Federal Employee Program (FEP) and Administrative Services Only (ASO) plans; Covered California HMO and PPO plans; and Medicare HMO and PPO plans.
