Design of future Rutland park to be unveiled later this week

Construction will begin on a new Rutland park next spring, but residents will get their first look at the future green space this week

The City of Kelowna plans to unveil the design for Aurora Park at the site, just north of the Mara Lumber Home Building Centre at 245 Aurora Cres., on Friday morning

Along with the design unveiling, officials will also share how community feedback helped shape the design of the new park

“The concept was developed following public engagement in 2025, where residents and businesses shared their priorities for the space,” a City news release explained

“Feedback highlighted a desire for improved community safety, a dedicated dog area, more trees and biodiversity, and spaces for play, relaxation and connection.”

Once the design is unveiled, KelownaNow will write a follow-up story to share it with the general public
