Dolphins signing UFL champion after successful workout

The Miami Dolphins lost to the New York Giants 26-3 on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium, dropping Jeff Hafley’s team to 0-2 in the preseason
On Monday, the Dolphins announced four roster moves, as they’ve waived center Jim Bonifas and cornerback Ahmari Harvey to make room for new additions linebacker Jaheim Thomas and tight end Ethan Conner
Bonifas joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent this offseason, while Harvey also went undraft in 2026 but had stints with the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers as well
Thomas, 24, played at Cincinnati (2020-22), Arkansas (2023) and Wisconsin (2024) before going undrafted in 2025. While he received a rookie minicamp invite from the Carolina Panthers, he didn’t make the team and didn’t play until joining the UFL’s Louisville Kings. In the UFL, he appeared in 12 games and recording 79 tackles, five passes defensed and a half-sack and helped his team win a UFL championship
Conner played at East Mississippi Community College and Troy, where he he appeared in 28 games and recorded 59 receptions for 680 yards and seven touchdowns. He went undrafted this year and had an offseason stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars
