For Yotam Israeli, LuxFit is not only a gym, but a place to foster community
Now, he’s bringing that over to Alameda, opening the first LuxFit in the East Bay
“Alameda is home to families, athletes, professionals, and an active community that deserve more than a traditional gym or single-format studio,” Israeli, the founder and CEO of LuxFit, said. “Bringing this model to the East Bay is a major milestone for us and we couldn’t be more thrilled.”
LuxFit launched in San Francisco in late 2020, bringing the first outdoor gym. Today, it has multiple gyms in the city
The company said the Alameda location will serve to fill a “meaningful gap for families, youth athletes, working professionals, and active adults who want expert coaching, accountability, and a genuine community around their training.”
“Alameda has such a strong sense of local pride, and we wanted to build something that matched that,” Amber Woolcock, vice president of LuxFit, said in a statement. “This isn’t a copy-paste of our San Francisco locations. We designed this space around how this community actually lives, trains, and spends time together.”
Luxfit distinguishes itself from other gyms through a diverse program of fitness classes such as HYROX, Oh She Lifts and Outdoor DRIIP
It also combines “quality of personal training, the energy of trending group fitness classes, the flexibility of open gym access,”
The new gym, expected to open in October, will have a 5,000-square-foot indoor training facility with another 1,500-square-foot of outdoor space. It’ll be located at the Star Harbor Apartments
