This year’s At Our Table – Highlands Wellbeing Forum will continue this week starting with a presentation at the Bowral Memorial Hall on Monday (August 31). The forum kicked off in spectacular fashion with a performance by veteran Australian actor Rob Carlton at Centennial Vineyards earlier this month

This week it will be over to the professionals with presentations by world-leading psychology and education expert Professor Lea Waters AM, PhD and the CEO and founder of the Rites of Passage Institute and 2025 Father of the Year, Dr Arne Rubinstein OAM

Now in its third year, the forum offers access to internationally recognised experts and evidence-based guidance to local parents, carers and educators – re

Organisers say the theme, At Our Table, centres on connection, collaboration and community – an invitation for everyone to come together in a shared effort to strengthen wellbeing across the Southern Highlands

This year there will be a particular focus on raising children in a technology driven world

The forum is hosted by the Highlands Youth Co-Lab – a community-led initiative strengthening youth mental health across the region through prevention, early intervention and coordinated local action

Monday’s forum, ‘Raising Little Humans in a Big Tech World’, is aimed at parents of children aged 0-5 years wanting simple strategies to understand and respond to their child’s behaviour in ways that create more calm, connection and cooperation at home

It will commence at 9.30am and will run for approximately 90 minutes

It will be presented by Professor Waters

Dr Arne Rubenstein will take the stage on Thursday night to talk about raising children in a technology driven world and will help parents understand what’s changing in a tech-driven world

It will be suitable for parents of children of all ages

Other sessions will be held throughout the week for early educators, primary and secondary students, teachers and fathers and sons
