Malaika Arora’s Resistance Band Workout Targets Glutes, Core and Abs

Malaika Arora is showing that an effective workout does not always require complicated gym equipment. In her latest Instagram video, the fitness enthusiast demonstrated a resistance band routine designed to challenge the glutes, core and lower body

The workout uses a simple resistance band but focuses on controlled movements and repetitions to increase the intensity. Malaika recommended performing each exercise for around 20 to 30 repetitions, making it an accessible routine for those looking to add a quick lower-body burn to their workout

    Recommended Stories

Malaika begins the routine lying on her back with her knees bent and feet positioned on the mat. With the resistance band placed around her thighs, she repeatedly opens her knees outward before bringing them back together

The movement primarily engages the outer thighs and glute muscles while the core helps maintain stability

    2. Leg Abductions With Legs Raised

The next variation increases the challenge by changing the position of the legs

Lying flat on her back, Malaika raises both legs straight towards the ceiling with the resistance band positioned above her knees. She then moves her legs apart against the resistance of the band before bringing them back together

The exercise requires controlled movement and helps add resistance to the lower-body workout

    3. Side-Lying Leg Raises

For the final exercise, Malaika moves into a side-lying position with the resistance band placed around the ankle area. She lifts and lowers the top leg against the resistance of the band

This movement particularly targets the outer hips and glutes, making it a useful addition to a lower-body strength routine

A Simple Workout With One Piece of Equipment

Sharing the video, Malaika described the routine as a “Resistance Band Burn”, focusing on the glutes, core and abs

Resistance bands can make familiar bodyweight exercises more challenging by adding external resistance throughout the movement. However, Malaika’s routine also highlights an important fitness principle: simple exercises can become effective when performed with consistency, control and proper form

Malaika Arora’s Focus on Everyday Consistency

The actor has also previously spoken about setting practical fitness goals rather than focusing only on intense workouts

Her monthly fitness challenge included habits such as drinking water, avoiding junk food, getting seven to eight hours of sleep, working out regularly, running once a week and aiming for 10,000 steps a day

Other goals included spending time outdoors, avoiding phones during meals, practising gratitude and recognising small daily achievements

The larger takeaway from her approach is simple: fitness is not just about one workout. It is built through the small habits repeated every day

From resistance-band training and regular gym sessions to sleep, movement and mindful eating, Malaika’s routine continues to put consistency at the centre of staying active and healthy

    Quick Answers
