Health officials investigate possible measles exposure in Buncombe County

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) –<a href="https://healthylife7.com/feels-like-the-low-100s-this-week-in-north-carolina-and-virginia/" title="Feels like the low 100s this week in North Carolina and Virginia”>North Carolina health officials are warning of a potential measles exposure after an infectious traveler from another state passed through Asheville
According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and Buncombe County Health and Human Services, the person was in Asheville while contagious
Anyone who was at the Holiday Inn Express at 435 Smokey Park Highway in Asheville between 1 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 may have been exposed to measles and should monitor for symptoms through Sept. 16
Health officials said the hotel is cooperating with local public health authorities to notify guests and staff of the potential exposure

Anyone who develops symptoms should contact their local health department immediatelyand stay home unless seeking medical care. Officials also recommend calling ahead before visiting a doctor’s office or emergency room to help prevent exposing others
