    Joe Marler gatecrashes office

Rugby star Joe Marler gatecrashed an office to challenge Britain’s fixation with ‘life-maxxing’. The Celebrity Traitors star surprised office workers with a lunchtime team talk to emphasise that overhauling your lifestyle or spending countless hours in the gym isn’t necessary to adopt healthier choices

    ‌

It follows research showing 56% are dedicated to ‘life-maxxing’ – the practice of optimising all areas of life-lifestyle, fitness, relationships, and personal growth-to achieve maximum potential, but this is often done through extreme measures

    ‌

Joe argued you don’t need to overhaul your life to live healthily. Speaking about the obsession with life-maxxing, Joe said: “It’s exhausting just thinking about it. I wanted to show people that looking after yourself doesn’t have to mean completely changing your life.”

    ‌

“Most of the time it’s the little things that make the biggest difference,” Marler said. “Walk while you’re on a call, take the stairs, move a bit more, and make smarter snack choices. It’s about making healthier habits fit around your life, not the other way round.”

Partnering with Babybel Protein, Marler encouraged employees to rethink how they use their lunch break, showing that straightforward, simple adjustments can be the key to a healthier lifestyle

    ‌

From desk-side squats and walking meetings to improvised “kettlebell” exercises and stairwell lunges, he demonstrated how simple ways of moving can be woven naturally into the working day – with plenty of time left to enjoy lunch

The poll of 2,000 adults found the average person has just under an hour and a half to fit everything in – from work and fitness to nutrition, finances, and personal goals

    ‌

Maintaining good health and prioritising their wellbeing topped the nation’s agenda. However, many acknowledge they find it challenging to make progress – with 41% saying they haven’t improved their fitness yet and 35% falling short of their nutrition goals

More than half of those surveyed agreed that modest, everyday habits deliver the most significant impact

Abhilasha Shaw from Babybel commented to say: “When time is limited, trying to overhaul every part of your lifestyle can feel overwhelming. Rather than chasing perfection, it’s the small, consistent changes that are more achievable – and often make the biggest difference

“Whether it’s finding more opportunities to move, making smarter food choices, or ticking off life admin where you can, those little wins all add up

“Something as simple as choosing a natural protein snack can help support your goals while fitting effortlessly into a busy day.”

TOP 10 WAYS BRITS FIT IN EXERCISE:

    1. Opting for stairs rather than escalators or lifts.
    2. Taking brief, frequent walking breaks throughout the working day.
    3. Transforming household chores, such as cleaning, into physical activity.
    4. Parking at a greater distance from their destination to incorporate a walk or run.
    5. Arranging social activities that involve exercise or sport.
    6. Performing stretches at their desk.
    7. Dancing around the house whenever the mood strikes.
    8. Doing upper-body exercises while sitting and watching TV.
    9. Exercising during advert breaks.
    10. Doing mini workouts while cooking.
