Yeah, so the Faith Community Clinic opened up today as Greater Cincinnati’s first free full-time health clinic, and our WLWT news Aaron Thomas talked with organizers and volunteers. He joins us live from Newport with more. Hi Aaron. Hey Cherie and Mike, yeah, this free clinic actually sits above *** free pharmacy right inside this historic building behind me. It’s also worth pointing out that this building sits along *** bus route, adding to the mission of providing easy access where it’s needed. 12 Obtaining free health care in Northern Kentucky just became easier with the opening of Faith Community clinic. Every clinician that walks through here isn’t getting paid *** dime. They’re here because they believe in our work and they believe in our patients. Executive director Aaron Broomall says the clinic aims to serve as *** vital lifeline in the region. Everything we do. Starts with the fact that we believe every human being is infinitely valuable, and that means we start with dignity, we start with respect, and we start with care. Some of that care includes chronic disease management and prevention medicine, but there are restrictions to receiving free treatment. The qualifications are you’re *** Kentucky resident, you have no insurance. And usually we take care of people 300% under the federal poverty level. This clinic opens at *** critical time as an intestinal illness ticks up across the tri-state. Dr. Robert Tracy says it’s equipped to give patients the care they need with stool samples and partnering with other agencies. We can also, you know, prescribe. Medication if we need to to help with them. Just downstairs, *** free pharmacy. Regardless of the need, volunteers are committed to patients over profits. We’re not going to hand you *** bill. We’re not going to ask for your insurance. We’re just going to deliver you care. All of you. Now this clinic currently operates from county dollars and private donations. Right now they operate about 2 days per week, but they’re hoping to expand to 4 days *** week. And eventually in the coming months they like to add dental and mental health services.
