The free event will bring together local organisations, experts and activities to help islanders make simple, positive changes that can support their overall health and help reduce the risk of bowel cancer
‘Reaching our 25th anniversary is a very special moment for Bowel Cancer Guernsey, and we wanted to celebrate in a way that gives something positive back to the island,’ said charity chairwoman Anne Brouard
‘We want this event to be friendly, fun and useful for everyone and at the same time help to not “sit on it but sort it”
‘Eating more fibre, increasing exercise, cutting down on alcohol, stopping smoking and returning your FIT kits can all play a part in prevention and early detection.’
As well as raising awareness of bowel cancer, including how to prevent it and diagnose it, the show will feature a range of healthy lifestyle stalls, live cooking demonstrations, informative talks, children’s activities and sport sessions for all ages and abilities
The children’s activity zone is being sponsored by Butterfield Channel Islands. Claire Heaume, its vice-president of marketing and communications, said the show would be a wonderful way to celebrate Bowel Cancer Guernsey’s legacy while looking to the future
‘This is a fantastic community initiative that encourages islanders to adopt healthier habits towards better health, and we hope it inspires people of all ages to make more positive lifestyle choices,’ she said

CEO Warwick Long said the event was ‘all about helping people take small, manageable steps towards better health’

The Healthy Lifestyle Show is being held at Beau Sejour on Saturday 7 November from 10am to 4pm
