The city says more buildings on the Upper East Side have tested positive for having the live legionella bacteria in cooling towers. Health officials have said it could be weeks longer before DNA testing will determine which tower or towers contributed to 84 Legionnaires cases including five deaths and whether the building owners followed the laws to test and disinfect. A sixth person has died in connection to the outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in a Manhattan neighborhood
The New York City Health Department confirmed the death of the sixth person Tuesday. In all, 90 people have tested positive for the disease as a result of the cluster found on the Upper East Side, six of whom were still in the hospital

The cooling towers that tested positive for the live bacteria have been fully cleaned, the Health Department said. The department said it would continue to update the addresses on its website as appropriate
