Miranda Kerr wants to be around for a long time.

And for the 43-year-old supermodel, that means eating healthy foods that “nourish” her body. Kerr opened up about her strict diet on the Tuesday, Aug. 4 episode of Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari, sharing that after a six-year struggle with irritable bowel syndrome, she changed her diet.

“I love food, but when I got sick, I had to learn even more that food is medicine,” Kerr explained. “And so I love to have nutritious and delicious foods, like, that feed my soul. But at the same time I don’t crave unhealthy food anymore because I know how detrimental that can be to my body on the inside.”

Kerr added that she’s more focused on having “vitality and energy” than her looks.

“I think that’s more important than what you look like,” she said. “It’s so much more important that you feel that vitality, and that’s why I say my non-negotiables are meditation. Like, I’m doing that instead of working out I guess you could say with the busy life that I have right now but that’s the choice that I make because that’s what feeds me.”

The mother of four starts her days drinking “noni juice,” which she’s been doing since the age of 13. The drink, originally from Tahiti, is made with super fruits and filled with antioxidants.

“It has a lot of vitamins and minerals,” Kerr said. “I have a 30ml shot, my little baby has some as well. He’s like, ‘Noni?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, have some noni.’ My teenager is not into it but anyway that’s being a teenager right now, and then I have so then I have a marshmallow tea because that’s good for the gut lining.”

She then has “a few tablespoons of coconut yogurt” with “local honey,” and a “bite of a banana” before her coffee.

Kerr drinks her coffee with coconut milk and prefers the Fabula brand coffee, which boasts being mold-free and lead-free. She added that she personally tested the coffee to confirm the label’s claim, and exclusively gets her coconut milk fresh from Erewhon. For sweetener she uses maple syrup.

But that’s only the beginning of the model and businesswoman’s breakfast routine. After school drop-off, Kerr likes to focus on a protein-heavy diet in the mornings.

“I don’t do eggs,” she said, bypassing traditional breakfast foods. “I do protein. So I eat all meats like venison, bison, lamb, turkey. I eat all the meats that aren’t mass produced for the reasons that we all know.”

As for what she restricts herself on, Kerr listed, “For me personally, no dairy, no wheat and no eggs. And then I’m very specific about the oils. So only cooking with coconut oil or avocado oil, no seed oils. Olive oil is okay on salads, but not to cook with. “

And while she’s tried to use gluten-free bread for her kids, Kerr said that they won’t eat it, so she sticks with sourdough, though she personally doesn’t eat bread or rice. When it comes to carbs, she listed, “squash, carrots and parsnips.”

“I do have a little bit of salmon, but not too much because of the mercury that’s in salmon,” Kerr said, before adding that she “never” eats sushi anymore due to “parasites.”

“I used to live on sushi when I lived in New York until I learned,” she said. “I do love ca

And for a special treat, Kerr will make a carob hot chocolate with coconut milk and maple syrup.

In a 2024 interview with Get the Gloss, Kerr detailed her struggles with IBS while pregnant with her second son, Hart

“It’s an auto-immune thing and they don’t necessarily have the answers to why, which is frustrating,” Kerr said at the time.

Kerr is mom to son Flynn, 15, with ex-husband, Orlando Bloom, and shares sons Hart, 8, Myles, 6, and Pierre, 2, with husband Evan Spiegel.
