DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. —
Pennsylvania State Police will join the Millersburg Area School District and several Dauphin County emergency agencies for a critical incident response exercise on Wednesday, Aug. 5
The modified full-scale drill, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will allow state police, local firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and school faculty to practice a coordinated response to a simulated active-shooter incident

Officials emphasized that the event is only a training exercise, not an actual emergency
The drill is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen school safety and prepare first responders and staff for potential crises
The exercise will include extensive regional reion medical helicopter
Residents should expect to see a significant law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services presence near the school at 799 Center St. in Millersburg during the drill
