    Wexner Medical Center, Riverside Methodist rank among Ohio’s best hospitals

    • Two Columbus hospitals were recognized among the top regional hospitals in Ohio by U.S. News & World Report.
    • The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center was ranked the second-best hospital in the state and first in Columbus.
    • OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital was ranked sixth in Ohio and second in Columbus.

    Two Columbus hospitals made the top 10 in U.S. News & World Report’s new list of the best in the state of Ohio. The publication evaluated 229 hospitals in Ohio as part of its 2026-27 ranking. The report, released Aug. 4, named Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center as No. 2 in the state, following the Cleveland Clinic at No. 1

    OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, also in Columbus, ranked No. 6 in Ohio

    Ohio State says this is the 34th consecutive year the hospital ranked among the best

    “Ohio State is committed to providing innovative and exceptional team-based care to our patients and the communities we serve in central Ohio, across the state and nationally,” Wexner Medical Center CEO John Warner said in a press release

    “Being consistently recognized as one of the nation’s best hospitals reflects the dedication and expertise of our clinicians, as well as our commitment to provide the best care for every patient, every time,” Warner said

    A Columbus children’s hospital recognized nationally

    The best children’s hospitals in Ohio, a separate list also from U.S. News & World Report, ranked both Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus and Cincinnati Children’s as No. 1, tied for best children’s hospital in Ohio

    The two also tied for best children’s hospital in the Midwest

    Nationwide Children’s also made U.S. News and World Report’s best children’s hospitals honor roll. The hospital is nationally ranked in 11 children’s specialties, earning its top rankings in gastroenterology & GI surgery and nephrology

    Top Columbus hospitals top specialties, per U.S. News & World Report

    The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

    • Nationally ranked in 5 adult specialties
      • No. 46 in cancer
      • No. 42 in neurology and neurosurgery
      • No. 38 in pulmonology and lung surgery
      • No. 7 in rehabilitation
      • No. 15 in rheumatology
    • High-performing in two specialties and 15 procedures/conditions.

    OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital

    • High-performing in two specialties and 16 procedures/conditions.
