A dietitian from Morris Hospital will present a free program on building healthy eating habits for children on Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Morris Hospital YMCA, 2200 W. Dupont Ave., Morris, according to a release from the hospital

The program, titled “Fuel Your Future: Healthy Eating for Kids,” is open to the community and does not require YMCA membership to attend, the release said

The hospital said the class is designed to help parents and caregivers build healthy eating habits for children. The discussion will include an exploration of balanced nutrition and active lifestyles for kids, practical tips for packing lunches that keep kids energized throughout the school day, and strategies for handling picky eaters, according to the release

The hospital said simple recipes for busy families will also be shared

To register, the hospital said, people can call Morris Hospital’s Wellness department at 815-705-7358 or go to www.morrishospital.org/events and select the Nutrition category
