    • A mother and daughter from Wellsville were killed in an ATV accident.
    • The community will hold a public visitation and memory sharing service this Thursday evening in the school gym.
    • Ashley Robichaud was a first-grade teacher, and her daughter Emersyn was a student at the same school.

The Wellsville community will gather this Thursday evening to remember Ashley and Emersyn Robichaud, the Wellsville mother and daughter killed in an ATV accident last week

A public visitation and memory sharing service will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Wellsville Secondary School gym, 126 W. State St

The Aug. 6 crash of a four-wheeler in a farm pasture off Niles Hill Road in the Town of Wellsville also injured Ashley Robichaud’s three-year-old son, Parker. Authorities said Parker’s injuries were not life-threatening

The tragedy has been met with an outpouring of grief and support in the close-knit Allegany County community, with a GoFundMe drive and other collections raising more than $80,000 for the family to date

Ashley Robichaud, 39, was a first grade inclusion teacher at Wellsville Elementary School, where she had taught since 2014

Six-year-old Emersyn was a first-grade student at the same school

Ashley married Jason Robichaud, a special education teacher at Wellsville Middle School, on Oct. 24, 2015. He survives

In a social media statement, Wellsville Central said the school “continue(s) to process the loss of Ashley and Emersyn.”

The district arranged counseling services for families, students, staff and community members, with counselors available at both school campuses. School officials said counselors will be available in the school guidance offices for anyone who may need a listening ear, a safe space to talk, or additional support

The Wellsville school district said, “All are welcome to come together to support the family and one another” at the Thursday night gathering in the gym. People will be afforded the opportunity to share memories of Ashley and Emersyn starting at 7 p.m

Additionally, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, in St. Martin-in-the-Fields, 2587 Baseline Road, Grand Island, New York

A Niagara County native, Ashley Robichaud was a 2006 graduate of Starpoint Junior/Senior High School and earned her master’s degree in special education from Buffalo State University

In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by her parents, three brothers and nieces and nephews

Arrangements are by Olney-Foust & Embser Funeral Homes & Cremation of Wellsville. Online condolences may be expressed at wellsvillefuneralhome.com
