    NEED TO KNOW

    • Marco Rubio criticized Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s MAHA diet, and diets in general, in a new interview

    • Rubio’s wife, Jeanette, revealed his love for sugary snacks like Pop-Tarts, which the secretary of state called “one of the great American innovations”

    • The secretary of state also revealed that when he tried the keto diet once, it was a “near-psychotic event” that made him angry

The “Make America Healthy Again” lifestyle has not been adopted by everyone in the White House

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio, were guests on The Katie Miller Podcast on Aug. 11 to talk about their family, marriage and religion when Miller, 34, asked about Rubio’s sweet tooth

The exchange began when Miller asked, “I assume you haven’t adopted RFK [Jr.]‘s diet of red meat and fermented vegetables?”

“No. This is a crazy diet. This is a diet that consists of <a href="https://healthylife7.com/when-gut-microbes-run-low-on-fiber-they-may-start-eating-you/” title=”When gut microbes run low on fiber, they may start eating you”>eating sauerkraut and meat,” Rubio, 55, said. “Now, you understand this is not a sustainable thing.”

“Well, he sustains it because he does it,” his wife interjected

“Can you imagine? He has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut,” Rubio continued. “I’m not gonna travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It’s ridiculous! I can’t do it. It’s not sustainable for me.”

Miller then asked if Rubio considered himself to be MAHA

“I am in favor of MAHA,” Rubio replied

Jeanette, 52, then revealed that the secretary of state loves eating Pop-Tarts

“The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world,” protested Rubio. “If you think about it, it comes in this beautiful foil pack.”

“He eats all the things you should not be eating. Every single thing,” his wife added. “Anything that’s sugar, [he] will take it down.”

Rubio then said that if he eliminates sugar from his diet, it makes him angry. When he tried the keto diet once — a high-fat, low-carb health plan — “it was a near-psychotic event for me,” he said

“Like if I did [keto] in this job,” he continued, “I would be in there, ‘Mr. President, we must bomb Paraguay.’ And it’s like, ‘Why?’ ‘I don’t know, I’m just really mad, I haven’t had any sugar.’ “

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is well-known for his unorthodox eating habits, including eating a diet that mostly consists of red meats. On July 30, the health secretary announced he will be hosting a celebrity cooking show “inspired by” the Trump Administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative

The show will promote the “upside down” food pyramid, which prioritizes foods like steak, whole milk, cheese and vegetables, which experts say goes against decades of well-documented research and evidence
