
Hollywood star Hayden Panettiere has died aged 36, her father has confirmed
The US actress, best known for her roles in Heroes, Nashville and the Scream franchise, died just days before her 37th birthday
Her father, Skip Panettiere, released an emotional statement through her representation on Monday
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” her father said in a statement

“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”

He has asked for privacy as the family “takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”
A cause of death for the mother-of-one has not been announced

Panettiere’s death comes just months after she released her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, in which she spoke candidly about growing up in Hollywood, motherhood, addiction, recovery and the devastating loss of her younger brother, Jansen
His family said he died suddenly, aged 28, from an enlarged heart and aortic valve complications in 2023

She had also recently spoken about the traumatic birth of her daughter Kaya in 2014, revealing she nearly died after suffering severe bleeding

Panettiere shared Kaya with her former fiance, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko
They broke up in 2018 after nine years
The actress said she had maintained a close relationship with her daughter after she signed over custody as she recovered from alcohol and drug addiction, along with post-partum depression
“I mean, it was the worst signing those papers and like the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever, ever had to do in my life,” she told Red Table Talk

Panettiere rose to global fame playing cheerleader Claire Bennet in the hit superhero series Heroes, which ran from 2006 to 2010
