Rosie O’Donnell looked radiant as she returned to the late-night circuit this week, showing off the results of her recent health transformation and facelift

The 64-year-old comedian appeared as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, looking glamorous in a pale pink tailored suit decorated with colorful floral embroidery

Wearing a coordinating blush pink shirt underneath, Rosie styled her silver hair in soft, face-framing waves and opted for glowing makeup, defined eyes and a soft pink lip

A photo shared by the show’s official Instagram account showed the former talk show host sitting behind Jimmy Kimmel’s desk, with fans quick to comment on her youthful appearance. “Obsessed with the Rosie rebirth,” wrote one fan

The TV appearance comes at a transformative time for Rosie, who recently spoke candidly about losing around 60 lbs after being prescribed Mounjaro following her type 2 diabetes diagnosis three years ago

Rosie O’Donnell reveals 60-lb weight loss

Rosie told People that the medication had dramatically changed her relationship with food after struggling with her weight for much of her life

“It’s a miracle drug,” she told the publication. “I was stunned how it quieted the food noise. I’ve had trouble with my weight my whole life.”

Rather than experiencing a rapid transformation, Rosie explained that her weight loss had been gradual, averaging around one or two pounds a month over three years

She also has no intention of keeping the role medication played in her transformation a secret. “I know some people are ashamed to talk about it but I wanted to share how it helped me and I don’t like secrets as a whole,” she said

Rosie traced some of her complicated relationship with food back to childhood and the death of her mother, Roseann, from breast cancer in 1973, when Rosie was just ten years old

“When my mom died, all of us children gained weight,” she recalled, explaining that as an 11-year-old she would be given $100 to grocery shop for her family. Everyone got heavy. Everyone was in such grief and trauma.”

For Rosie, taking Mounjaro has had an impact that goes far beyond her appearance. “Mounjaro saved my life,” she told the publication. “I’ve lost a pound or two a month for three years.” She added: “I feel much healthier and more powerful in my physicality.”

Rosie’s transformation has also included a deep plane facelift, which she underwent after her weight loss left her with excess skin around her lower face

The actress and comedian has been equally transparent about going under the knife, explaining that she wanted a refreshed result without dramatically changing the way she looked. “I didn’t want my face to be frozen or to be unrecognizable,” she told People

The decision wasn’t one she took lightly. Rosie admitted that her own views about feminism and cosmetic surgery initially left her conflicted. “As a feminist I always felt this is the patriarchy, the male gaze and not anything that I believe in,” she explained

Her youngest child, Clay, also challenged her decision, asking what message cosmetic surgery might send to women who looked up to her

Rosie waited six months before deciding to proceed. “I decided the real power of feminism is women get to decide what they want to do to their body and when,” she said

Why Rosie O’Donnell refuses to hide her cosmetic surgery

Rosie also found support from longtime friend Ricki Lake, who has been similarly open about undergoing a deep plane facelift. “Ricki Lake has been very public about hers and she was my coach,” Rosie revealed

Initially, Rosie didn’t publicly discuss the procedure. But when people began commenting on how different she looked, she decided she didn’t want to pretend her transformation had happened naturally.”I didn’t want to be one of those people who says, ‘Oh nothing….'” she said

It’s the same philosophy behind her decision to discuss taking Mounjaro, particularly after spending decades worrying about how her body appeared on television

Rosie recalled that even at the height of her career, her appearance could overshadow her professional achievements in her own mind

“When I would do late night, my biggest concern wasn’t my set, it was, did I look fat?” she admitted. Now, following her weight loss and surgery, Rosie appears to be entering her latest chapter with a very different outlook, something she summed up simply: “I feel much healthier and more powerful in my physicality.”
