Woman crashes into IE Planet Fitness gym while suffering medical emergency

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (KABC) –A driver crashed into a Planet Fitness gym in Lake Elsinore on Monday after suffering a medical emergency
Amazingly, besides the driver behind the wheel of the vehicle, no one else was injured
The woman’s car went through the entryway of the Planet Fitness on Mission Trail shortly after noon and into the front doors, coming to a stop about 30 feet inside
Video from inside the gym shows the frantic moments after the crash. A gymgoer was seen using a dumbbell to break a window and get to the driver
A witness said the woman appeared to be in her mid-40s. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department said she suffered moderate injuries, but it is unknown if they are from the crash or the medical emergency. Further details about the nature of the emergency were not immediately available
No one else inside the gym was hurt
“I didn’t even know a car went through until one of my employees came up and said, ‘There was a car through the gym.’ That’s when I got up and went to see for myself, and sure was, there was a car deep inside the gym,” said Bianca Myers, who works at a business next door
Despite the incident, the Planet Fitness location said it planned to reopen later on Monday
