Ky. (WKYT) – Staff from CommonSpirit Kentucky and players from the Lexington Legends teamed up Saturday morning for a volunteer effort to revitalize Constitution Park
The beautification project brought hospital staff, their families, and several Legends players and staff together to clean up, landscape, and paint park facilities
David Franz, the Vice President of Mission Integration for CommonSpirit Kentucky says the initiative is designed to support the local community outside of traditional healthcare settings
“We’re extending our mission out into the community beyond our clinic and hospital walls, extending human kindness and living our value of collaboration, working with others to make the community stronger through improving the health of the communities we serve,” said Franz
CommonSpirit Kentucky serves as the namesake sponsor of CommonSpirit Ballpark, the home stadium of the Lexington Legends, following a partnership announced earlier this summer. Vince Marucci, Chief Revenue Officer for Temerity Baseball says the partnership is exciting for both CommonSpirit and the Legends
“They chose us to be the catalyst to select a program and then give back with their staff and volunteers throughout the community,” said Marucci
The faith-based healthcare system operates through local partnerships to expand access to care and community support across the region
