The Brockton resident has been a fitness instructor for 14 years. She’s the founder of Like a Lady Production, a brand focused on encouraging women to find confidence in their wellness journeys. Now, Baerga is branching off on her own, opening “Class,” a new fitness studio coming to Raynham
Brockton school district halted use of 2 ‘closet’ time-out rooms | Exclusive
Time-out rooms in Brockton Public Schools that lacked ventilation are no longer in use, as the district adapts to new state special education regulations that take effect Aug. 17, according to Director of Special Education Jami Langley
That includes two time-out rooms at Downey Elementary School, she said
The changes follow concerns raised by Deputy Fire Chief Brendan Weeks, who described one Downey room as a “converted closet” in a politely worded but scathing email to the superintendent in December 2025

“Family-oriented” and “casual upscale.” That is how owner Dave Laghetto envisions Gennaro’s Surf & Turf. He said it’s somewhere to bring the whole family, while also having an atmosphere where you will feel just as comfortable dressing up as you would wearing slacks and a T-shirt
Family means a lot to Laghetto, who set aside a wall in the dining room showcasing his family and Italian heritage. The restaurant is named in tribute to his father, Gennaro, something Laghetto said he just “wanted to do.”

A clerk-magistrate found probable cause on Aug. 14 to charge Brockton Mayor Moises Rodrigues with assault and battery, stemming from his alleged touching of a Brockton High School student during a parade
The mayor has not yet been formally charged, as of Tuesday, Aug. 19, but even if he is, City Council President Jack Lally and City Clerk Tim Cruise confirmed to The Enterprise on Monday, Aug. 17, that nothing in the city charter or state law would remove Rodrigues from office or even pause his duties
Bridgewater’s Zackrison brothers have baseball locked down in town
The Zackrison family’s conquest of baseball in Bridgewater is pretty much complete
Head coach Tim Zackrison and his son RJ, a pitcher/first baseman, will lead the town all-star team into the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this week. Watching from the stands — at least for the first game — will be Tim’s older brother Greg Zackrison, who’s done fairly well with his own (slightly older) Bridgewater squad
Greg, 47, has been manager of Bridgewater State for the last eight seasons, winning almost 200 games at the NCAA Division III level over that time
