Qatari Diar signed a cooperation agreement with Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) on 24 August 2026, aimed at strengthening joint collaboration on sports and community initiatives, in support of greater sports participation and to encourage members of the community to adopt a healthy, active lifestyle
Under the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in organizing and implementing sports events, championships, and community initiatives of mutual interest, and will launch joint community programs and initiatives aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging sports participation
The agreement also provides for the utilization of spaces and facilities owned by Qatari Diar, along with the provision of the necessary logistical support to ensure the successful execution of events and activities
It further stipulates the exchange of expertise between the two parties upon launching any sports initiative, through providing consultation, technical support, and related services, in addition to cooperation in the media, marketing, and promotional aspects of joint events and projects, both locally and internationally, including benefiting from available media and advertising assets, as well as the screens and media spaces owned by Qatari Diar
The agreement was signed by CEO of Qatari Diar Sheikh Hamad Bin Talal Al-Thani and H.E. QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain
Commenting on this occasion, CEO of Qatari Diar Sheikh Hamad Bin Talal Al-Thani said:
“The signing of this agreement reflects Qatari Diar’s commitment to expanding its contribution to the community and supporting national efforts to establish sport as a fundamental element in enhancing quality of life.”
For his part, H.E. QOC Secretary General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain said this agreement marks a new step towards strengthening cooperation and partnership between the Qatar Olympic Committee and national institutions.
“We are committed to building effective and sustainable partnerships that help broaden the scope of sports initiatives and programs while enhancing the presence of sport and its positive role in society.”
“We also hope that this partnership will serve as a model for fruitful cooperation between national institutions, supporting our aspirations to further advance the sports sector, strengthen Qatar’s position on the international sporting stage.”
