Indeed,Arnold Schwarzeneggercelebrated his 79th birthday on July 30, commemorating the occasion by pumping iron.
Posting photos of himself working on his arm routine and showing off his muscles, theTerminatorstar wrote on Instagram, “I turn 79 today. I don’t want any gifts. Instead, my team and I are turning the fitness industry upside down.”
Instead of receiving presents, he gave some to his followers, giving a shout out to his workout programs through his Pump Club app
“I’ve been trying to get people to train for six decades,” he continued, “and I finally found something that works.”
His fans aren’t the only ones benefitting from his fitness advice. In fact, his sonJoseph Baena—whom he shares withMildred Baena—has followed in his footsteps as a bodybuilder,winning his first competitionearlier this year.
During the NPC Natural Colorado State competition, the 28-year-old came in first place in several categories including Men’s Open Bodybuilding Heavy Weight Class, Men’s Classic Physique—Novice and Men’s Classic Physique

Last year, he revealed the active day he had planned for his 78th trip around the sun, sharing on Instagram at the time, “Here we are, driving around, bicycling, getting my fitness workout done, and then I’m gonna lift some weights and I’m gonna eat some good food and all those kinds of things.”
And in case you were worried that the ex-California governor was all work and no play, he also detailed his plans to let loose later that evening, writing, “Tonight we’re going to celebrate.”
