By putting wellbeing, communication, and purpose at the heart of employee experience, the Group is creating “space to make a transformative impact, career, and life”.

This article is brought to you by Chinachem Group

With a workforce of more than 4,000 employees spanning asset management and development, hospitality and entertainment, healthcare, and property services, Chinachem Group (CCG) recognises that creating a positive employee experience requires more than traditional HR programmes. It requires a workplace where employees feel heard, supported, and connected to a larger purpose

“True success is a shared journey. By fostering a culture of ‘Connection, Collaboration, and Growth’, we build a supportive and inclusive community rather than just a workforce. Caring for our people and contributing to our society go hand-in-hand. By empowering individuals to bring their best selves to work and align with a shared purpose, we create enduring value for our employees, our business, and our communities,” says Syl

Guided by its vision of creating and operating ‘Places with Heart’, the Group has built an employee experience strategy centred on belonging, wellbeing, communication, and personal growth. Underpinning this approach is a commitment to creating “space to make a transformative impact, career, and life”, while ensuring employee voices remain at the centre of decision-making

This people-centric philosophy has helped shape a culture where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, grow professionally, and make meaningful contributions both within the organisation and the wider community

These efforts also contributed to the Group’s achievements at the recent Employee Experience Awards 2026, where the company won a gold award in Best ESG Strategy and a bronze award in Best Employee Communication Strategy

“We are incredibly proud of this recognition, which highlights our progress in building a purpose-led culture. By integrating sustainable values directly into our daily employee experience, we aren’t just talking about our mission – we are living it,” adds Choi

Embedding wellbeing into everyday work life

Employee wellbeing is a core pillar of CCG’s employee experience strategy

To better support employees’ evolving needs, the Group has enhanced its wellness programme with a more proactive and holistic approach across four key pillars: physical, <a href="https://healthylife7.com/injuries-can-take-a-mental-toll-on-athletes/” title=”Injuries can take a mental toll on athletes”>mental, financial, and social. This integrated framework has helped increase participation, strengthen wellbeing awareness, and create a more connected, supported, and motivated workforce

Recognising that a diverse workforce requires personalised support, CCG has adopted an employee-centric approach by introducing greater flexibility into its wellness offerings, tailoring initiatives to better support employees across different roles, locations, and life stages

These efforts are guided by active listening to employees through regular feedback channels, engagement surveys, and open dialogue. The insights gathered have helped ensure wellbeing initiatives remain relevant, inclusive, and responsive, creating an environment where employees feel understood, supported, and engaged

Listening to employees to strengthen connection

Beyond wellbeing, communication plays an equally important role in strengthening employee engagement and connection

At the centre of its integrated employee communication strategy is ‘CCG Connect’, a centralised communication platform that serves as a central hub for company updates, leadership messages, HR policies, wellness initiatives, and key redates, employees can easily access relevant information and stay connected to organisational priorities

The Group also embraces a multi-channel communication approach through internal platforms such as ‘Viva Engage’, town halls, mass emails, as well as external social channels to ensure employees can access information in formats that suit their preferences

Beyond information-sharing, CCG also focuses on two-way dialogue. Initiatives such as ‘My Suggestion’ provide structured channels for employees to share feedback, ideas, and concerns, reinforcing transparency, trust, and continuous improvement

Creating impact through sustainability and community engagement

Employee experience at CCG also extends beyond the workplace

Through its refined ‘Sustainability Focus’, the Group empowers employees to become active contributors to environmental and social impact initiatives. ESG talks, sustainability workshops, green campaigns, community programmes, and volunteer activities provide employees with opportunities to learn, contribute, and make a meaningful difference

To foster a culture of volunteerism, the Group has also established the ‘CCG Volunteer Team’ and introduced enhanced volunteer leave arrangements, making it easier for employees to participate in community service and social initiatives. Activities ranging from elderly home visits to large-scale ‘Community Inclusion Day’ help strengthen employees’ sense of purpose, empathy, and connection with the communities they serve

Looking ahead, CCG plans to deepen employee communication, strengthen feedback mechanisms, expand wellbeing programmes, invest in ongoing learning opportunities, and create more opportunities for employee participation in ESG and community initiatives

“We believe that a truly exceptional employee experience is built on trust, inclusion, and a shared sense of purpose. As we continue our journey, we remain committed to creating an environment where our people feel valued, empowered, and inspired to grow,” concludes Choi
