Kuwait City: Deliveroo has been recognised by the Kuwait Society for Human Rights (KSHR) in recognition of its commitment to riders’ rights and wellbeing, becoming the only delivery platform to be honoured at the organisation’s annual recognition ceremony
The recognition followed an independent assessment conducted by KSHR, which surveyed riders across Kuwait to evaluate companies’ commitment to protecting riders’ rights and wellbeing. The assessment considered several criteria, including respecting riders’ rights and dignity, complying with applicable laws and regulations, and adopting practices that promote riders’ safety and wellbeing
The award was presented during a ceremony held at the Kuwait Society for Human Rights headquarters in the presence of senior representatives from the Ministry of Public Works, the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), Deputy Ambassador to the European Union, government officials and members of civil society
Yazan Aburaqabah, Director of Operations at Deliveroo Middle East, said: “We are honoured to receive this recognition from the Kuwait Society for Human Rights. It is a meaningful testament to our ongoing commitment to supporting riders’ rights and wellbeing. Riders are at the heart of everything we do, and we remain dedicated to creating an environment where they feel safe, valued and supported.”
Deliveroo continues to invest in initiatives that support riders’ wellbeing through a range of programmes, rewards, and seasonal initiatives, in addition to working closely with rider agencies, government entities, partners, and the wider community to foster a safe, responsible, and sustainable delivery ecosystem in Kuwait
