Officiated by the Secretary for Education, Dr Choi Yuk-lin, the Kick-off Ceremony cum Professional Exchange Seminar of the School Campaignwas held on August 29. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from around 400 principals, teachers, and student guidance personnel. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Choi said that schools are where students learn to care for, support and respect one another. Fostering a harmonious, safe and orderly learning environment is fundamental to students’ healthy growth. Through deepening multidisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration, the EDB aims to enhance the understanding and awareness of anti-bullying and <a href="https://healthylife7.com/mental-health-utilization-is-up/" title="Mental health utilization is up”>mental health among students, teachers and parents, so as to safeguard students’ physical and psychological well-being together.

The Chinese name of the “Forging Relationships, Nurturing Well-being” School Campaignunderscores peer support and care, symbolising hope and warmth and bringing in vigour, vitality and positive emotions to schools. To tie in with this theme, the EDB will provide a series of training activities for teachers and parents, covering topics such as the promotion of mental health at schools, strengthening students’ resilience, enhancing interpersonal relationships, building a caring and harmonious school culture, preventing bullying at schools, and strengthening parent-child communication and home-school collaboration. In tandem, the EDB has launched a designated webpage for the School Campaign (www.edb.gov.hk/tc/teacher/guidance-discipline-services/support-services/harmonious-school-anti-bullying/Well-being_Campaign.html) (Chinese version only) and will disseminate relevant activity suggestions and reference resources in phases to support schools in organising diversified activities.

To prepare for the new school year, the EDB has provided additional practical suggestions and consolidated various resources for schools, students and parents to help students navigate the challenges that may arise in the new school year through the “Start the New School Year Full of Energy” designated webpage (mentalhealth.edb.gov.hk/tc/promotion-at-the-universal-level/promotional-resources-for-schools/220.html) (Chinese version only). In the 2026/27 school year, the EDB will continue to make every effort in promoting the 4Rs Mental Health Charter in schools, with resilience and relationship as the core themes. Hong Kong swimming record holder Miss Stephanie Au will serve as the 4Rs Charter Mental Health Ambassador, promoting the importance of physical and psychological well-being to students and injecting momentum into schools’ efforts in the promotion of mental health. Furthermore, the EDB has designated the months between October 2026 and January 2027 as 4Rs Mental Health Months in response to the World Mental Health Day on October 10, encouraging all primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong to implement diversified school-based mental health promotion activities during this period, and to practice the 4Rs Mental Health Charter continuously in schools to enhance students’ physical and psychological well-being.

The EDB issued a circular memorandum to all primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong today to explain the content of the School Campaign and the 4Rs Mental Health Charter in detail, while encouraging schools to actively respond and work together for students’ healthy growth
