Fox News host Jesse Watters offered a blunt prescription for Americans without health insurance on Monday: get a job
On Monday’s episode of “The Five” on Fox News, Watters revealed his solution for Americans without healthcare
“How about get a job?” Watters said in a clip shared on X
“If you’re 30 and went to grad school and are an Ethiopian barista, like your friend in Colorado, yeah, she doesn’t have health insurance ‘cause she doesn’t work,” Watters continued. “Also, MAHA. ever heard of it? Make America Healthy Again? It’s called Eat Right and Exercise. Maybe try that. I do it.”
Watters goes on to reveal that he “hyperextended” his knee at the beach. Instead of going to the doctor to, as he said, “jack up everybody’s healthcare bills,” he says he just self-diagnosed
“I don’t whine and go to the doctor for every ache and pain,” Watters said
Watters’ more-than 90-second rant came during a segment on the Democratic Socialists of America movement and the idea of “Medicare For All.”
“Medicare For All” is a proposed single-payer, national health insurance system for the United States. It evolved as a political catchphrase popularized heavily by Senator Bernie Sanders
“Cradle to the grave health insurance? I don’t want that,” Watters said. “This is a self reliant country built on rugged individualism, and I’ll pay for poor and elderly healthcare, [but] I will not pay for healthy, wealthy, hard working Americans’ healthcare. They have to pay their own way.”
