An alternative rock band formed in Geneva is set to return to its New York roots to perform at The Great New York State Fair this summer
Gym Class Heroes, fronted by Travie McCoy, will perform at The Fair’s Chevy Court on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 1 p.m
The band, which is known for hits like “Billionaire,” “Stereo Hearts” and “Cupid’s Chokehold,” rose to fame in the 2000s but is now starting a new project to highlight its artistic evolution, The Fair said
McCoy is said to be leading the band into a new era that blends the sound fans have known and loved with their transformative and creative new material
According to The Fair, this new era for McCoy and Gym Class Heroes will explore themes of resilience and transformation through musical storytelling
“Travie McCoy’s distinctive sound and ability to connect with audiences have made him one of the most recognizable voices to come out of New York State,” The Great New York State Fair Director Julie LaFave said. “We’re proud to welcome him home to The Fair and excited for fairgoers to experience a performance from an artist whose talent continues to resonate with fans around the world.”
