The Slovak-founded company reported a 24% increase in revenue between January and December in 2025, while EBITDA rose 35% year-on-year to €18.7 million
According to its most recent annual report, GymBeam’s gross margin increased from 45% in 2024 to 48.48% in 2025, with the growth largely driven by use of new technologies, in-house production, and on-trend innovation
The firm managed 11,499 SKUs and introduced nearly 1,000 new products in 2025
He revealed the top-selling SKUs by volume remained the core sports nutrition staples: 100% Micronized Creatine Monohydrate, Grass Fed Just Whey Protein, Chelated Magnesium, True Whey Protein, and Creatine Monohydrate 100% Creapure
“Sports Nutrition still dominates the category-by-country gross merchandise value split everywhere,” Cicman told NI
The company also introduced functional foods designed to complement GLP-1 treatments
“As GLP-1 is still an evolving category and health topic, we are still evaluating; however, we expect this category to be more and more significant in the future,” Cicman said. “That is why we look into being as accessible as possible to people on such medication.”
He noted GymBeam is additionally planning the launch of several longevity-focused products
“We view the inclusion of products such as NMN, Resveratrol, Quercetin and Coenzyme Q10 as a key step in building a comprehensive portfolio for a modern, active lifestyle that responds to the growing demand for solutions for maintaining vitality and cellular health,” he said
The firm expanded its use of robotics in 2025 and increased its fulfilment capacity across Europe through the openin of a 15,300 sq m fulfilment center near Milan, equipped with 85 AutoStore robots and 74,000 storage bins
AutoStore is an automated storage and retrieval system in which autonomous robots travel across the top of a grid of stacked storage bins. The robots retrieve the required bins and deliver them to workstations, where employees or automated systems pick products
Cicman told NI the technology reduced average picking time to less than 10 seconds per item. The company also reported a 47% year-on-year reduction in warehouse labor cost per shipped order in Italy
“The speed of infrastructure execution remains our key competitive advantage,” he said
GymBeam’s automation strategy also extended beyond its physical logistics operations, introducing artificial intelligence across areas including purchasing, software testing, customer service and e-commerce search
The company applied AI to customer service, using AI models and autonomous agents (chatbots) to optimize query resolution, reducing average response times by 50%. They also integrated AI into the website search engine, resulting in a 123% increase in search relevance
Cicman said GymBeam will extend and utilize automation across the wider business
“We want to extend the automation logic beyond IT into the whole enterprise, and are currently building AI infrastructure, which shall be a fundamental component of our operational DNA as well as the primary driver of further EBITDA margin improvements,” he said
Alongside logistics automation, GymBeam increased the proportion of products it manufactured itself, noting that revenue generated by its own production increased from 3.56% of total revenue in 2024 to 11.09% in 2025, with sales from own production increasing 277% during the year
The company also acquired its long-standing manufacturing partner, Kaja Food, in Germany in December 2025, adding around 4,000 sq m of production space and nine manufacturing lines at a facility near Düsseldorf
“This level of vertical integration allows us to eliminate inflationary pressures within the supply chain and achieve margins that are unsustainable for traditional e-commerce resellers in the long term,” Cicman said
GymBeam plans to move more than 100 stock-keeping units (SKUs) into internal production at the German facility, supporting the expansion of its own brand supplements and ‘Made in Germany’ offering
“The expansion of proprietary production is a central part of GymBeam’s strategy to improve margins by reducing its reliance on lower-margin third-party products and increasing the proportion of products manufactured within the group,” Cicman said
The expansion was supported by €30 million in financing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and PortfoLion
GymBeam’s growth strategy is increasingly focused on Western European markets, although consumer purchasing patterns vary significantly across the regions in which it operates, Cicman noted
Czechia and Slovakia remained the company’s largest contributors to gross merchandise value (GMV), accounting for 23.5% and 16.4%, respectively
Italy also became an important market for GymBeam, wherein the sports nutrition category represented 51% of GymBeam’s local sales
Cicman partly attributed the company’s 72% year-on-year revenue growth to the company’s partnership with prominent Italian fitness influencer Danny Lazzarin
This data informs the company where we prioritize expansion capital. Polish and Bulgarian consumers prioritized fitness accessories and sportswear purchases whereas markets such as Czechia and Slovakia were more heavily concentrated in core categories like sports nutrition and protein powders
“Germany, Italy and Austria as the sequential priority markets for Western European growth,” Cicman said
The Milan fulfilment center is therefore intended not only to improve current operations, but to provide infrastructure for further expansion in the region, he noted
