Halle Berry changed her workouts after menopause
Halle’s approach to exercise has evolved considerably in recent years. The actress previously favored cardio, martial arts, boxing and bodyweight training, but has since revealed that she has shifted her focus towards building and preserving muscle as she gets older

“I used to do a lot of cardio,” she explained in 2025. “Right now, I’m trying to put muscle mass on, so I lift weights now and I never used to lift weights before.”

Halle admitted that her new routine isn’t necessarily as exciting as some of the high-intensity workouts she once favored, but she recognizes its importance
“Now I just do pretty much boring, what I find boring, but it’s necessary for this stage of life,” she said, revealing that she lifts heavier weights than she ever has before and aims to do so at least twice a week
Her attitude towards ageing is equally refreshing. Earlier this year, Halle spoke about refusing to become invisible as she approached 60, declaring that she was going to become “louder” rather than allowing herself to be erased
Halle Berry’s diet has changed after menopause

Halle has also adapted the way she eats. After being diagnosed with diabetes at 22, the actress dramatically changed her diet, cutting back on processed carbohydrates and sugar and later becoming a longtime advocate of a ketogenic eating plan

“I really believe that what we put in our mouths has the biggest impact on our health of any aspect of our lifestyle,” she previously wrote while discussing her diet
But rather than following exactly the same regime decades later, Halle has adjusted her nutrition to suit her changing body
During a recent discussion about menopause, she revealed that she had moved away from her previously strict ketogenic approach and introduced more carbohydrates, fiber and protein into her diet, alongside her new emphasis on strength training

It is a significant shift for the star, who has long stressed that there isn’t one approach that works for everybody

When previously discussing keto, she made a point of saying she wasn’t “pushing the keto lifestyle” on others, explaining: “It’s just the lifestyle that we subscribe to that works best for our bodies.”
Halle has also always allowed herself some flexibility, previously admitting: “Sometimes you just have to eat what you want.”
For her, maintaining her physique appears to be increasingly less about chasing a particular aesthetic and more about remaining strong and healthy for the decades ahead
As she enters her seventh decade, Halle has made no secret of her determination to embrace this chapter of her life. Speaking about ageing earlier this year, she said: “I’m almost 60. Fighting for women’s health feels like a formidable cause for my second act.”
