S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said a man has been charged with kidnapping following an incident in Seneca
Officials said an investigation began on July 19 after a deputy responded to a business located at the BI-LO place near Seneca. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the adult male victim
Officials said during the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Christopher Lathaniel Cunningham, reportedly assaulted the victim by grabbing the victim’s shirt and making threats to physically harm the victim
The sheriff’s office continued saying the deputy was advised that the Cunningham prevented the victim from leaving a locker room at a gym, took the victim’s phone and ordered the victim not to use his phone
Cunningham was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Friday, July 24 around 3:22 p.m., officials said. He was charged with kidnapping and assault and battery, third degree
Deputies said this is an ongoing investigation
