Athletic workouts will begin Aug. 1 depending on the sport with some changes being made by the UIL to take place beginning this Fall

The UIL mandates schools the use of Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) monitoring, regional classification thresholds, and rapid cooling zones for all outdoor athletic and marching band activities

Once temperatures reach that, modifications must be adjusted depending on how hot the temperatures get. From anywhere from three three-minute breaks per hour to no outdoor workouts or contests permitted and outdoor activities moved indoors
