FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. —
Novant Health has shifted several clinics to virtual appointments and temporarily paused elective surgeries at some facilities following the major water main break affecting parts of Forsyth County
The health system said the changes will remain in effect for the rest of the day as crews respond to the water disruption

Hospital Visitations
Hospital officials said Forsyth Medical Center remains open and continues to provide emergency and medical care. However, visitor restrictions have been implemented to help conserve water
Visitation is currently limited to one essential support person. Exceptions include pediatric patients, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care, family care units, patients who require assistance because of a disability or cognitive condition and end-of-life care. Additional exceptions may be approved based on individual patient needs
In-Person Care
Patients who require in-person care will be accommodated at nearby Novant Health clinics that remain open. Officials said all affected patients will be contacted directly about changes to their appointments or scheduled procedures
Novant Health Medical Park Hospital and Novant Health Hawthorne Outpatient Surgery Center have temporarily paused elective surgical procedures
Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center has activated its water disruption preparedness plan, which includes pausing elective surgeries and securing outside water re
Novant Health Clemmons Medical Center and Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center continue to operate normally
