The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of its workforce, noting that a healthy workforce is essential for improved productivity and effective service delivery
The Head of Service, Mr. Olanrewaju Saka, stated this, this Wednesday during the football finals organised as part of activities marking the 2026 Public Service Day in the state
The Head of service said the government was well aware of the need for public servants to remain physically and mentally fit, stressing that workers must make their health a priority
He urged public servants to cultivate a regular exercise culture and not wait until the annual Public Service Day celebration before engaging in physical activities
He emphasised that maintaining good health would not only benefit the individual workers but also enhance their productivity and contribute to a more efficient public service
In the football finals, the mainstream civil servants defeated the parastatals in the female category, while the parastatals emerged victorious in the male category with a 2-0 win
Earlier in the day, civil servants from across the state converged on the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, where they participated in various indoor sporting activities, including chess, scrabble, Ayo Olopon and table tennis
The activities formed part of the celebrations aimed at promoting camaraderie, healthy living and improved relationships among public servants in Ogun State
