    Hypoxia has emerged as an unexpected therapy for some mitochondrial diseases. Garg et al. now extend this concept beyond primary respiratory chain mutations, showing that reducing oxygen tension can rescue a disease of mitochondrial protein quality control linked to the HTRA2–CLPB axis
