SmartGym update makes it easier to manually adjust and log exercises on the go

With the version rolling out today, users who rely on SmartGym’s iPhone app will find it easier to adjust and log their sets during workouts. Here are the details

SmartGym makes it easier to adjust and log sets during workouts

SmartGym’s Apple Watch app has long allowed users to quickly adjust details such as reps and weight as they log each set

With today’s update, that flexibility comes to the iPhone app. Users can now choose between the current logging interface and the new Inline Logging interface, which lets them adjust values, log sets, and add new sets without leaving the same screen

The new interface also includes a small badge in the bottom-right corner of the reps and weight fields showing the values originally planned for each set

Once a set is logged, SmartGym also starts the rest timer directly from the same screen, allowing users to continue their workout without switching views

This is important because SmartGym is not only about recording what you did. It is also about helping you understand what you were supposed to do

Your workout plan exists to move you toward a goal. Seeing the planned set alongside the set you actually completed makes it easier to stay on track during the workout and easier to see whether you are progressing over time

Today’s update also introduces a completely new keyboard designed from the ground up to make in-exercise logging even more streamlined. It includes buttons to quickly increase or decrease values, or change a set’s type between regular, warm-up, and drop sets

As SmartGym puts it, “every second we remove from the app is a second you get back for what matters: training.”

Finally, the update rolling out today includes a redesigned Smart Action Button that predicts the user’s most likely next step and surfaces the appropriate action at the bottom of the interface based on where they are in their workout

Options include Log Set + Start Rest, Start Exercise, First Superset, Update Set, Next Exercise, and End Workout, among others

SmartGym says it has also improved the intelligence behind the Smart Action Button:

It can better recognize whether the user has finished a set, is moving to the next exercise, or is returning after an interruption. In each case, it surfaces the action that makes the most sense for that moment

The result is a feature that feels even more natural. SmartGym quietly handles the complexity in the background, while the user sees only what they need, exactly when they need it

One last note: users can configure the iPhone’s physical Action Button to trigger SmartGym’s Smart Action Button, making it even faster to manage a workout without navigating the app

SmartGym is free to download on the App Store and offers a wide variety of subscription options
