Ky. (WKYT) – The University of Kentucky Police Department will conduct a tactical law enforcement training exercise on campus this week and officials say the training will not pose any risk to the public
UK police said people in the area should expect to see an increased law enforcement presence from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, and Thursday, July 30

The training will take place near 620 South Broadway. The exercise is not open to the public or media, but the department said it is sharing the information so the campus and surrounding community are aware
According to UK police, the training is designed to strengthen operational readiness for situations such asactive aggressor incidents. The department said this type of exercise is part of ongoing efforts to improve emergency preparedness and support public safety
UK police emphasized the training is routine and does not pose a threat to the community
