A 70,000-square-foot Club Studio fitness center is planned for 761 Main Ave., in the former location of LA Fitness, which closed in April
Club Studio, a luxury fitness chain, has 22 locations in 11 states, including one other Connecticut location at 100 Cedar Ave. in South Windsor, whichopened in 2025.

The gyms can include free weights, Olympic lifting and plate-loaded machines; a wide selection of cardio equipment, such as treadmills and stationary bikes; a lap pool; and a basketball court with an electronic scoreboard, according to the company’s website
Fitness International, which owns Club Studios, also owns LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness, City Sports Club and XSports Fitness.
The company was not immediately available for comment on the Norwalk location’s opening date.
Three real estate investment and development firms — Lincoln Property Company, Saber-Hightower and Waterfall Asset Management — recently acquired the 761 Main Ave. property as part of a $450 million deal, according to a Lincoln Property Company news release

The 29-acre, 400,000-square-foot mixed-use center also includes a Northwell Health-anchored medical outpatient complex, the headquarters of Cannondale Bicycle headquarters and sites for multifamily development
The joint venture’s business plan calls for adding more medical office space or medical tenants in Norwalk, according to the release. The acquisition also includes properties in New York and New Jersey

A Club Studio at 699 Canal St. in Stamford is planning a January opening, said Joe Vaccaro, a partner at V20 Group, a Darien-based developer that owns the property. The Stamford location housed a Fairway Market, which closed in 2020.
