Beaumont, Texas(July 8, 2026)– The City of Beaumont Public Health Department has been recognized as a Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) agency by the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), earning national recognition for its commitment to emergency preparedness and public health planning

Project Public Health Ready is a nationally recognized program that measures a health department’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies. The designation recognizes agencies that meet rigorous national standards for emergency planning, workforce readiness, and continuous quality improvement

The Beaumont Public Health Department has earned this recognition through 2030, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to protecting the health and safety of Beaumont residents during public health emergencies and disasters

“This recognition reflects the dedication, expertise, and hard work of our Public Health team,” said Public Health Director Kenneth Coleman. “Our staff works year-round to ensure Beaumont is prepared for emergencies, and this achievement demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our community.”

Only 13 local health departments in Texas have earned Project Public Health Ready recognition, highlighting the significance of Beaumont’s achievement

The City of Beaumont congratulates the entire Public Health Department on this outstanding accomplishment and thanks its employees for their continued commitment to keeping the community healthy, safe, and prepared
